Paseo Nuevo

Paseo Nuevo is an open air, 458,000 square-foot center located in the commercial and retail heart of the affluent Santa Barbara downtown district. Drawing  7.2M tourists and seasonal residents annually, the picturesque property features beautiful Spanish-style architecture and lush garden courtyards. RCI Builders, Inc. was engaged  to upgrade exterior facades, landscaping, and walkways, create interactive community spaces, charging stations, LED lighting, and luxurious lounge areas to elevate this unique downtown gathering place on the American Riviera.

The challenge of this project was to complete all stated scope of work without disruption to existing businesses. RCI Builders, Inc. and on-site Pacific Realty team members created a Paseo phasing plan and scheduling coordination breakdown structure to minimize impact to center vendors. The team also planned a project shutdown during peak holiday season. Extensive false-work, temporary walkways, pedestrian barricades and night work were utilized to ensure smooth operation of the open air mall.
