Mill No. 1 is a fully restored historic textile mill located in downtown Durham. At the time of the restoration, the 180,000 square foot project was the only remaining 1900s era conversion opportunity of its kind in the area. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the unique collection structures including the mill, warehouse, and power plant have been renovated into a Class A mixed use office and retail in this highly desirable market. Mill No. 1 is part of Golden Belt Campus, an adaptive reuse project that combines modern offices, historic architecture, fine arts studios and galleries, live entertainment on the Mill Stage and plaza, an array of dining options, and Hi-Wire brewery’s 8K SF tap room in a restored early 1900’s textile mill.
